You Will See Marvellous Things

You Will See Marvellous Things – As a child visiting the forest was a constant. Dark events of the time became stories attached to the local woods, it was somewhere to both play and be wary. During the lockdown of 2020/21 it was widely reported that people found solace in trees, I was no exception. My neighbourhood trees by the Thames in West London were where, during those strangely suspended weeks and months, I could lose myself looking up into their branches. The title of the series comes from a poem that describes just that – Woman Waving at Trees by the surrealist artist Dorothea Tanning.
